There are quite large places where there is not enough water to maintain human life. If we build large structures with a seal against water loss and shield against the sun a community could be housed there.
Water could be obtained from the air by solar fridges which would also serve to keep the temperature and humidity equitable.
Crops and farm animals could be kept in large greenhouse structures where the environment could be kept correct for the type of habitat within.
Fish farms could supply sea food also.
I was thinking of the Great Australian Desert or the portions of other lands where hot deserts exist.
